okay, thanks
thanks for the responses.
It's interesting to see how everyone has processed the information
about these failures. People want to be confident they understand
the issue. But in reality, this is like a star trek episode where a phaser
is dropped onto a planet. And the people there use the phaser, but
then it stops working. So all sorts of theories get created about
why.
But the simple reality is that people don't understand the phaser and
don't have the tools and mechanisms for analyzing it. But people are
willing to believe MSFT understands it. It's cool that MSFT obviously did a good job with XBOX, because people use/love it in spite of the problems.
Hey another thought:
All the posted youtube videos are cool because it lets you see how people
setup their xbox's in terms of stacking on other electronic devices, or inside
a cabinet, or whatever else. Made me think that cramming all the guts
into the small xbox cabinet was a bad decision by MSFT. If they would
have just decided to be horizontal only (like everyone uses it, because
of CD tray)...and larger, they would have had more internal airflow, and
could have used larger, slower fans for less noise and more CFM.
I'm thinking like the size of a DVD player in width and depth, but thicker
like a vcr.
Would anyone really care if the xbox was a bigger device?
