Well thats stupid its like buying a tv the pic goes all stupid you ring up you havent got warrenty there gonna make you pay to get it fixed rite? there not gonna fix it for free if you ring up the next day. You must of just got a dumb rep
that thought you had the 3 red rings.

And thats the end of it i aint gonna have a row over someone elses xbox.

For those who say self fixes don't work. Self fixes only don't work if you're incapable of fixing it, which implies it's you not the fix that doesn't work. I did the X-clamp replacement on a broken out-of-warranty 360 I got for free and then put new thermal paste and overheated the GPU to reflow the solder, been running just fine for a week now, going on two weeks soon. If you know what you're doing you can definitely fix it yourself.

thank you man and no i didn't lie about this i have NO charges from them on my credit card for the repairs and i have several friends i play Halo 3 with that will vouch for this story but he is right you were being an ass about the whole deal so get over it if i didn't have to pay and you did its no god damn big deal remember that they could have easily enough have said that they couldn't fixed the error and screwed you over but they didn't so just learn to deal with it that some people may or may NOT have to pay for this error message i mean come on dude its not that big of a deal

holy fuck this place is a flame war between humans. here is something simple MICROSOFT GAVE EVERYONE A FREE 3 YEAR WARRANTY AGAINST THE RED RINGS OF DEATH (3 RED LIGHTS). SINCE YOU HAVE OWNED YOUR CONSOLE FOR ONLY 2 YEARS, THIS IS STILL IN EFFECT. now you stated that your 360 only has one red light, well, to give it the 3 Red lights, wrap the 360 in a towel and turn it on for a half hour, then turn it off and let it cool. then you will have the 3 red lights and your warranty will cover it. THE TOWEL TRICK DOESN'T WORK WELL FOR FIXING THE 360, IT WORKS BETTER BREAKING IT SO YOU GET YOUR WARRANTY. DON'T BELIEVE WHAT EVERYONE SAYS.

dude that will fuck up him getting it fixed cause im sure that Microsoft will ask how he got the RROD like they did me this is only a graphics problem nothing more simple send it in and get it fixed
