To Those Dumb Modders
This is a Email a friend of mine sent me regarding opening your console and such When he asked about modding and the x clamp fix
Thank you for writing Xbox Customer Support!
We deeply apologize for the inconvenience. It sounds like this has been a very frustrating experience for you.
I understand that you have some questions with regard to your Xbox 360 console that you needed to take-apart.
As an end-user, you should not service the Xbox 360 console. Do not try to open or modify the Xbox 360 console.
If you open or modify the Xbox 360 console, you will void the warranty. The following excerpt is from the Xbox 360 User Manual:
Do not attempt to take apart, open, service, or modify the Xbox 360 console, power supply, or peripherals. Doing so could present the risk of electric shock, fire, or damage to your Xbox 360 console.
Any evidence of any attempt to open and/or modify the Xbox 360 console, including any peeling, puncturing, or removal of any of the labels, will void the Limited Warranty and render the Xbox 360 console ineligible for authorized repair.
If the Xbox 360 console requires service or repair, contact Xbox Customer Support to arrange to have Microsoft service the Xbox 360 console.
Note: The Xbox 360 console features customizable and replaceable faceplate's. Replacing the faceplate's is not considered tampering or modifying the console.

If you actually needed a letter from MS support to state that opening your console voids the warranty then you need to consult your manual!
Here's a tip as well. If you buy a Dell PC, don't open it and replace it with aftermarket fans and stuff either. It also voids your warranty.
Don't flash your iPod firmware with any aftermarket firmware or Jailbreak it, as that will also void your warranty.
Don't install aftermarket performance parts in your brand new car. It will void your warranty.
Starting to notice a pattern here? Common sense doesn't need a sticky thread.

well why have a forum for modders and allow posts like that on this forum i mean if this is common knowledge wouldn't it make sense to ban the people that talk about mods including hard ware fixes and such thats the point im trying to get out
