Please help with controller break away cable.

Hi I just purchased a second hand xbox 360. Unfortunatly the controller is missing the break away cable. I know I can buy one on ebay if i'm prepared to wait. But I'm dying to play with the xbox.

My question is can any one tell me how to wire a usb connection on to the controller and just do away with the breakaway connection.
