Going to buy an XBOX 360 - Need some major help

So since I'm on a tight budget I'm looking at the 360 Arcade package. From what I know this has HDMI. Since we don't have a HDTV in our house right now (getting one soon) I will be using the 360 with my LCD Monitor, which has a HDMI Input.

This monitor is a 19" Widescreen LCD, which means 1440x900. I'll use either 1280x768 or 1360 x 768.

Here are my major questions:

HDMI: From what I know, the HDMI cables also carry digital audio. But, I have speakers that can accept the composite audio connectors. Im assuming all I would need to do is the mod to the composite cable (so hdmi can fit under it) send the Composite audio connectors to the speakers, and feed the HDMI cable to the monitor, right?

Resolution: Will the fact I'm using the HDMI connector make a difference in terms of resolution? I assume it will still be the same, just a digital connection rather than analog.

Thanks

Using a HDMI connection wont be resolution, itll give you the 720p,1080i or 1080p option in system blade.or it did for me.

resolution would be on VGA cable.

So will the HDMI still work with my monitor? I assume it should work fine considering it supports HDMI. I would choose 720p then? (my monitors resolution is 1440x900)

The Arcade supports HDMI output.

Just wondering, will 256 MB be enough for game-saves only? I dont plan on putting anything onto my 360. Just game saves.
