Dude, just buy a brand new one and you don't have to worry about it because your warranty is for 3 years.

It happens when you least expect it. It is pretty much guarenteed that you will get it as some point, at least more then once.

I bought the elite over 6 months ago and have had no problems with it so far. I read that they are putting a new chip in the x-boxs so they wont overheat.

Meh, it depends on what you do with it and how much you play and where you put the console. I can guarantee it will happen to you eventually.

I never got it on mine and I had mine for over a year. So, it's not everyone who gets it. You take care of your shit and youll be ok...But IF you get it then you have a warranty.

Turtle i have only been here five minutes and no that you suck BALLS at giving advice and reading comprehension!.....i asked if i get an elite if it will fix the red ring problem? because from what i hear they fixed those problems with the elite but my bud has a premium and it gets the lights some times.

They havn't FIXed it on any of them, but they have made them have it less with new heat sinks and ect.
