Worst thing ever, have a few questions need some help.

Alright so i have an xbox that has already had the 3rrod and it has had the x-clamp done and now it has the lights again. i also have a nother xbox that works but the dvd drive it broken, so my question is is there anyway i can replace the dvd drive with the rrod xboxs dvd drive? if so how? and also they are not the same kind of drive

Yes, but it isn't easy. You will have to dump the firmware of the broken drive and extract the drive key and then flash and spoof the firmware on the working drive with that drive key. Not for the faint of heart.

i can do that i used to flash my psps firmware and stuff all the time, does anyone have a good tutorial of how to connect the drive to my pc and how to do this?

I dont think i have the right SATA chipset to do this, if i buy the same kind of drive as the broken one will i be able to replace it without flashing the firmware

Yes. If you buy the exact same brand of drive you can swap the circuit boards.

What type of SATA chipset do you have?

What is the brand of drive on the RROD Xbox (working drive), and the brand on the working Xbox (broken drive)
