Console doesn't detect a memory storage device.

Hey,

When I started playing BioShock, my Xbox 360 will not detect my memory card. I went and purchased another memory card, but it still does the same thing. Therefore it must be my console and not any of the memory cards. When I play any games now, my console pulls up the window saying a profile cannot be found due to no memory storage device. I've tried all of the steps from the Microsoft help website such as pulling the cards out and placing them back in carefully, turning off/resetting the console, but to no avail.

What can I do to get my Xbox 360 reading my memory cards again without shipping the console to Microsoft? What is wrong with my console? One of my relatives was the last to play the console before it started doing this. Is it possible that they may have caused this problem?
