Question about Media Center in the 360

Hey guys,
I have ripped a bunch of my movies and have them in folders on my computer and i've got my 360 on my network and i've set up the media center extender part and i am trying to get my movies to play on Media Center on the 360, does anyone know how to make this work?

if the movies are in the movie folder of vista/xp, you shouldn't have to do anything

also, if you go to Media Center for the first time and go to 'Movies + Pictures', it allows to select additional files
