Couldn't prove it anyways as this thing is about impossible to crack.

If it was a hardware mod that no longer showed the RROD and only some E40 or some shit error, yes it could be proved.
And it isn't impossible to crack. You don't know what you are talking about.

When you get the RROD, the system hasn't booted up yet, so no software update could turn the RROD on or off. It is a hardware triggered problem and error light flashing thing.
All hardware, software doesn't come in contact with making the RROD flash.
Microsoft wouldn't and can't release a download to stop the RROD and convert it to another error.
That is like saying can't modern medicine release something to change brain cancer to lung cancer, it is in the brain, and the only way to turn it off would be to fix it (with cancer it isn't all that easy though)

No, you are still misunderstanding. Let me give you an anology that might help you out. Say your car is over heating and ford or whatever says that they will fix it for free if the temp gauge reads 280 degrees. Then a ford tech sneaks into your garage and unplugs the temp gauge but makes your check engine light come on instead when your car over heats. The car is still over heating ,same problem but a different way to let you know about it, the latter being a loop whole out of the free repair. The problem is still there. They just change the error code thats all. Its very plausable. No one is saying they turn off the problem or are changing the problem into something else thats ridiculous. They could how ever make it so when you would get the malfunction that caused the 3RROD to activate to now activate a totaly different error code.

Software can override hardware. Though, it is highly doubtful that Microsoft would do this, they could. The console is still on while the error is given. The software could tell the console to do something else instead of giving the three red light error, such as turn off. It could also, simply, tell the console just to simply not flash the leds on the front of the console. The console would still know it's getting the error, it just wouldn't be notifying the user of it.

actually madden08 is probably right. The LEDs in the ring of light on the xbox are controlled by a microcontroller (basically a chip) and we can only guess if the console is able to access it and overwrite the code in it.

No. I understood that. And this is what I am saying. They can't do that thru a software update. When you get the RROD, at the time of it flashing 3 red lights, there is no software running. All there is is the bootloader on the CPU die running checks to see if all of the components are ready to boot. If it is all good, it starts loading, if it isn't it assess the problem and gives you an error, whether it be RROD or E74 or w/e.
The only way for Microsoft to change the on-CPU-die bootloader would be to get the Xbox in their hands, and even then, they would have to give you a new CPU because it is impossible to modify the on-CPU-die memory, it is a write once flash and you can't erase and re-write it.
I know what I am talking about, you can't stop the RROD from a software update and make it display some other E40 or some other error code.

When your console flashes the RROD, it isn't running any software as I explained above. It is just hardware checks and maybe some low level bootloader running, and you CAN'T modify the bootloader, (if you could, we would have Halo 3 modding, Xbox 360 computers, basically the entire Xbox 360 security system (beyond anything of what you guys need to know) would be worthless because we could modify the signature checks that the bootloader performs. So you can't have software that isn't running override hardware.
NOW
If you are in game...Microsoft MIGHT be able to release an update that would run code in game that would automatically make your Xbox freeze within 15 seconds of turning it on....I don't know why they would....probably illegal and a lot of people covered under the 1 year warranty would receive a replacement.

Well kinda. Microsoft could release an update that would boot your console right to the RROD (a fake RROD with nothing being wrong with your console) but they can't turn off the RROD and stash another error code instead of it.
