Help me, I would appreciate it.
Hey guys.
So I have been having issues with my 360. About a week ago I went to plug it all in, and set the bad boy up. Oh! Btw I have an Elite. So I plugged my wireless piece in, put my batteries in my controller, connected the power supply. Then I got my chips and sat down to play some video games with my buddies.
I pressed the center button on my controller and then... nothing. I checked the batteries in my controller, they were all okay. So I walked over to my xbox and pressed the power button, nothing again. So I checked the power supply cords, they were all fully in. The light though was orange. So I went to the 360 website and did all the troubleshooting they had for me, still nothing. I called the support line and they told me to send in my power supply. So I did.
About 3 days later I got a new one back, I was super excited. I set everything up. And the same thing happened. I then started testing stuff. So I found out that when the power supply is ONLY plugged into the outlet it provides an orange, that includes extension cords and so on... I tested all the outlets in my entire house. And then after having the power supply plugged into the outlet, I would plug it into the Xbox and then the light would magically become red.... I called the support line again and a different person told me to send this new one into the support center?
Are they right? Or is it actually the Xbox itself?
And if so what should I do?
I would really appreciate your help, and thank you for taking your time to read and help me.

This depends, is the red light appearing on the power supply or the xbox 360 console? If on the console, how many red lights?

If the power supply had the Red light then it's either ruined or not getting enough power. If it's the 360 then you have RRoD. Sure hope that's not it.

The red light is on the power supply. It was weird to me because the red light ONLY happened once the power supply was plugged into the Xbox, when it would be entirely fine other wise...
No RRod, that would suck.

Well I once, was getting the red light on the PSU upon plugging it into my Xbox...but that is because I didn't something on the inside of my Xbox and screwed up on the soldering...
But since you haven't taken apart your Xbox and you haven't modded it or anything, I think your actual console is the issue.

nice double post. but yea. it is probably something with your xbox. send the PSU in one more time and if you get a working one back, good, if not, then not good.
