Crackdown not working, Tried Everything!!!!

After signing in to my gamertag, the game Crackdown always freezes for me, either in the menu screen, or after I click "campaign".

Thinking the data was corrupt, I tried erasing the data and starting a new game. After playing for a few games it started doing this again.

Thinking the console was defective, I tried using my hard drive and disc on another console, same result.

Thinking the hard drive was defective, I tried copying the file to a memory card and trying again with the hard drive removed, same result. I also tried clearing the cache, nothing.

The only thing left would be the game disc, which has no scratches or dirt.

I have not been connected to xbox live in a long time, perhaps I need an update?

If it's not these things then what is it??? I can't get this game to work!!

I called tech support, they just want me to send in my console.
