Lose saved games in GTA IV

I just got the xbox 360 - for GTA IV, BFBC- played them - had some saved games. Downloaded some demos- played them. Then play GTA IV again, start at the beginning. GO MICROSOFT!!!!. Any ideas or did this happen to anyone else. Is there a memory card that Microsoft wants to force me to buy????

As usual this is ridiculous ( although I like Xbox 360 pretty good).

Are you sure you actually saved the GTA game.

I thought the same, but it turns out the 'autosave' feature doesn't overwrite your save game, you still have to save manually when you want to finish.

That could be- you have to back to the house and save? But still I started the game before and started from a 2-3 hr point into the game. I saw something about online profile and offline. I sign in auto now- maybe saved game is on other profile?

I have 20 gig 360 - I was just joking o I need to buy a mem card to make sure its not over written? So they can get $50 more?

It seems like i downloaded some demos and maybe Msft is too stupid not to prevent overwrite when it downloads something.

Yeah you have to go back to the house. That really pissed me off, had to go back and do like 4 hrs worth all over again.

If you have 2 profiles it would be worth signing in on the other profile to see if it was on there.

Thanks- I'll just start again under the "auto sign in to xbox"profile. But i dont want to lose it all again.

Of course it appears that microsoft doesnt let you look at the HD contents.

But I did see 10 save slots in the house save in the game

Its just frustrating- stupid that it worked many times -- then back to square one- poorly tested
