How hot is your 360?

Hey guys. I've only had my 360 for about 2 weeks. I don't play it for hours at a stretch; but after about 45 minutes of playing mass effect (or any other game), the backside of my 360 gets pretty hot. Its not 'melt the plastic' hot; but its alot more than my PS3 after a similar length of play.
Plus the disc is almost as hot as the console. Am I screwed?

Your inside parts will melt and you'll get RROD unless you get the intercooler.

i disagree with you on that one as intercoolers will give you more chance of getting the 3rrod and heats it up more quicker as you are using more power

not really since it is cooling it, not heating it up quicker because the fans cool the console.

Most intercoolers have to use power from the 360 to function, therefore heating up the 360 more in order to cool itself back down. You're really better off not using an intercooler, unless they make one that uses another power source, that might work a bit better. Unless Microsoft releases an official intercooler, I wouldn't waste my money on one.

Thanksfor the replies guys. So what should I do? Opinion seems to be divided on using an intercooler. Is there anything else I can try? I want the damn thing to last long enough to play Fable2- still 7 months away.
Why do the discs heat up? The drives in front and the heat gets pushed through the back. I cant figure it out.
