It is, really. Does remind me of OCD(kudos to Aggro)

Unless you have a fan blowing air 24/7 into your xbox, putting it in a box or putting a towel over it will not help it in any way. Hell, if anything putting a towel over it hurts your xbox more.

Think about it, a towel is a dust breeding ground. So, but covering your xbox with a dust-ladden towel, you actually put more dust in the xbox's surrounding area.

The fact that you put the towel on top of the xbox also means that you will move some air, which can pick up dust off the surface your xbox is on and project it into the air, giving your xbox yet another chance to suck up some dust later on.

I know i will proberbly get flamed by someone saying OMG MY TOWEL ISNT DUSTY.

It may not be visible to the naked eye, but take your towel, go in the sun and shake it, you will see dust.

Good point. A T-shirt or towel has plenty of lint. And maybe covering it, will not allow free air to flow thorugh the xbox keeping it warm inside.

Dont bother to keep it covered. just get the vac to it once a month or something. Give it a good going over all round & you should get most of the dust out. Same with the power supply.

Covering it is honestly, one of the dumbest things to do.

You keep any hot air trapped, you create some wind which will throw up some dust and moving an OLD t-shirt or towel, which is covered in dust and lint, ONTO your xbox just exposes your xbox to a third source of dust!

So i don't get flamed, source #1 surrounding dust on table, source #2, surrounding dust in air, source #3, t-shirt or towel.

If anything, put a FILTER infront of your xbox air intake, but dont forget to compensate for that obstacle with a fan inside to promote airflow.

Well, you COULD do that if you want your xbox to live.

Or cover it in a dusty towel. Or put it in a box, OCD, much?
