PC Selected - Failed
I have been trying to watch videos from my PC (running Windows XP Pro) on my Xbox 306. I've set up WMP11 the way it says to and I believe I've enabled all the correct ports. When I "test media connection" on the Xbox, it says "PC Selected - Failed". When I look at the error status report is shows:
W 0000 - 0021
X 0000 - F001
Y 0000 - 0000
Z 8000 - 4005
Does anyone know what this means and/or how to resolve this problem?

Maybe cause its an 306 instead of a 360?
No, but seroiusly. It maybe your firewall on your Comp is blocking your 360. I had same problem but dont remember the error codes.

you stated your problem already...you have XP pro, the xbox will only share with pc's that are running a media center os (XP Media Center or any Vista flavor)

Yup that's correct, you need Vista or MC edition of windows.

Share Media from Windows Media Center with Xbox 360
"When you connect your console to the same network as your PC running Windows Media Center, the experience is delivered to your Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system. (You can connect up to five consoles to a PC running Windows Media Center.)"
I don't see anything here that states you can just use WMP11. WMP11 is needed along with media center, but your OS has to have Media Center built in, wcich WMP11 is just part of

Using Windows Media Player 11 for Windows XP, you can stream music, pictures, and video from your computer to devices that are connected to your wired or wireless home network. For example, if you have a networked digital media player such as an Xbox 360, you can enjoy the contents of your Player library on that device, no matter where it is in your home.
