You know its quite interesting to hear peoples consoles from launch are still going strong, rather then people buying new falcons and in 2 months dying. My freind has a 2006 console, he put it in the shittiest place you could ever put an xbox (not his choice), and its running strong with 3 members of the house on it every day. It depends on so many things I guess. No real point into what i just said, but i just find it weird. Hopefully my xbox is going to go strong. I to am Jasper "hunting" when Im at local electronics stores around here for the shit of it, highest I ever saw around here was 0840x

I'm in the same boat as you, we have the Zephyr motherboard (the one most likely to red ring). My console did exactly that a few weeks ago and Microsoft sent me a replacement unit manufactured in October 08 - it is still a Zephyr

I live in Japan, where the units are always kept behind the shelf and the staff are quite reluctant to let you look at and touch boxes before you buy them. This is the same in all stores.
Anyway, today I persuaded the guy to bring an Arcade and a Pro to the counter.
The Arcade lot number was 0845X
The 60GB Pro was 0844X
Do you think either one of those could be Jaspers?
Is it possible to know a Jasper from the lot number?
I'm quite new to the X360 scene, so dont know too much about lot numbers.
Question for the people who have Jaspers. What are the lot numbers on your boxes?
Many thanks.

hey i just found this site - Xbox 360 DVD Drive Database - How To Guide - which i figured would best be thrown in here. it basically goes over chipset identification, dvd drive identification, lot identification, etc

Okay I'm really confused now! My old 360 red ringed after about 14 months so I sent it in for repair. It didn't have a HDMI so after reading all the details in this thread I'm assuming I had a Xenon motherboard (which uses a 203w power brick).
Microsoft have now sent me back a replacement console apparently manufactured in October of this year. This console also has no HDMI, so what do I have? I still use the same 203w PSU as before - they didn't send me a new one so do I have another Xenon?
Zephyr uses the same 203w supply, but it has the HDMI so that can't be mine. The Falcon uses a 175w supply and has HDMI, so it can't be that! The Opus was designed as a replacement for Xenon machines, doesn't have HDMI but uses the 175w supply (as it's basically a Falcon with no HDMI) which I don't have.
All I can think is they've given me another Xenon, yet it was manufactured in October?? Are they still making those stupid flawed machines??
I'm confused!!!!!

Yes lot numbers can show Jasper xbox 360, however the Amperage is a forsure indicator of a jasper motherboard
Jaspers also have 12.1 Amperage
Older models have higher Amperage
LOT NUMBERS & JASPER Motherboards
Yea Im pretty sure you can find out of the 360 has a Jasper Motherboard or not from the lot numbers.
This guy Ben Heck says his Jasper was....
"This was a Team:FDOU team Xbox 360, manufactured on 10-22-08,
lot # 0842X."
Source: Inside an Xbox 360 Jasper: Ben Heck dissects the mythical console, then tells you how to find one - Engadget
I too just got a Jasper xbox 360 arcade with the exact same Lot #.
But... i believe there may be other lots that have Jasper motherboard xbox 360s.
Dont rule out the other ones, but i know for a fact that this lot number i posted above has Jasper.
But ultimately the best way to detect a jasper is through its amperage of 12.1A

I got the xbox 360 arcade for my bro for xmas. And i tried to look for some sign of it without opening the box.
THe part where the serial is shown is where the ampure thing is shown. That lil cut out part of the box that exposes the xbox 360's serial number, on the left of the serial number shows the voltage and ampure.
I had to push it with my finger alil bit it showed.
I tried taking a picture of it but it came out blurry.
