Installing your game to the Hard Drive?

What exactly does installing a game tou your hard drive do?

It causes the DVD drive to not spin during play which quiets the system, and in some games, decreases load times.

X2. some games (halo 3) are designed to play online from the disc, and burning to the hard drive is worse instead of better.

so single player games are fine, multiplayer games are hit or miss (most the ones i tried i would lag like crazy when it was burned to hard drive)

Plus it's not like you're not gonna need the disk to start the game, you have to have the disk, it just stops spinning after you start it up

What? You just contradicted yourself. The game won't start without the disk in the drive. You need the disk to prove ownership.

No you misunderstood me. I said you DO need the disk to start the game, but then it stops spinning.

Right but before you said that, you said you're not going to need the disk to start the game, but you do. That is how you show ownership of the game.

it's NOT like you're NOT gonna need the disk.. that means if you install it to your drive, you still will need the disk.. think about what i said, i know it's kinda confusing.
