Trying to open my NAT setting
When I'm in matchmaking on Halo3, I get an error message that says "your NAT type is 'Moderate' you may not be able to connect to some ppl." I've looked at other forums and they say to set the 360's IP address as static, so I manually set the address, and restarted my router, but it still won't connect unless I have an "automatic" IP. My 360 is connected to a Linksys BEFW11s4 router which is then connected to an SMC7004 "Barricade" router and that runs into the modem.
Please help!

Oh, and I'd prefer not to enable DMZ on my router 'cause I'm paranoid and like everything nice and secure

On the contrary, I'm not offended at all. I wish I was in your family... maybe I could get cancer too.

I have no problems playing halo with moderate NAT. It gives me the message, but still finds plenty of players.

Thats how I have mine because I was having issues with NAT as well in GOW2. Doing that only exposes whatever is in the DMZ so the rest of your network is still behind your router/firewall. |
