I changed drives with another one off eBay. dead easy. I struggled to find a good video on YouTube of how to do it though. If you don't find one, let me know and I'll talk you through it. Good luck.

I think you flash the drive not the mobo. You would flash the new drive so it the mobo thinks its the same drive still.

But it's not the drive you need to confuse. Unless you flash the drive, to make it the same as the original. That could work.

Yea exactly, the Drive and MoBo are paired with a key and you just flash the new drive with that same key. I might do this myself cuz I need a new drive, the drive in my old 360 doesn't open unless I pound on it

Seriously, i'll look into the flashing of the drives, i have a bad drive. Mine keeps saying "disc is dirty" but i cleaned the laser just a few weeks ago.
