i did no the metal strip was there but it is positioned weird so that when you try to lift it the way you normally would with the old sticker it just rips at certain intervals. its as if the metal strip is cut into strips and the paper it held to that so it rips when the metal stops. (its the only good thing Microsoft has ever done)

I don't have enough posts to post links yet... But I tried.
Well, here is what I wanted to say, sans link.
Here is a video confirming the removal of a new type warranty sticker. Sorry for shitty quality and how long it took (only the second sticker I have removed, first of this new kind)
Kind of annoying, not being allowed to post links, but whatever.
My YouTube username is chaduh16, if you guys want to hunt it out yourself.

No problem, glad to help!
Here is a picture (sorry for shitty quality)
No residue left on the machine.
I found this easier to remove than the original sticker

Am I the only one here that thinks it ironic that you are opening your 360's to solve your cooling problems by sticking a heat gun/hair drier to it?
Food for thought

Silly rabbit. The hair dryer doesnt get anywhere near hot enough to damage anything on that console. And your heating the case not the actual parts of the console.

hey guys, quick related question from a novice.
My 360 did the old 3 red light thing.
At first it was freezing! Being the over-confident guy i am, i decided to open the console up and spray the boards with some dry air, planned on wiggling some connectors, checking some wires, "it cant be much different to a PC!" i thought to myself.
I hastily took off the metal "microsoft" strip....watching it break apart.
Now i panicked, turned it back on again and it decided this time to show me 3 red lights!
So, i ask you guys, my sticker is ruined! I cant find much info on the stickers themselves, but all the same the silver sticker saying "Microsoft" has been taken off from behind the fascia. I guess my warranty is now void?
My brother has a 360 with the same sticker, how safe is it to remove his sticker to send mine back? like, when you guys were talking about removing the sticker, does it work every time? I dont want to ruin my brothers warranty because of my foolish haste.
When taking off the side panels, as in the grey/silver parts, i broke off a couple of legs, honestly not caring what happened to it, since its my console and only superficial damage. Now im worried that there is real evidence i took the casing off (although i only ever went as far as taking off the grey sides and opening the front before i stopped, worried id voided something) as well as the sticker, so they wouldnt cover the repairs.
Thanks!

I know it wont do anything to it. It was just an ironic observation.
