my buddy gave me his xbox to try to fix, rrod. I've tried reseating the heatsink, but it didn't last, The last time i tried, i got enough time to update the dvd flash then pop.
This time i went all out and purchased a newer gpu heatsink and i'm adding a 50mm fan,
If this doesn't work, screw it. but it should

Question

Nice guide! But is there any good fans that does not sound like a f-22 raptor taking off but still do the job??

I have finally found a fan that will fit over top of the Gpu. Without hitting the dvd drive would this also help or is it overkill?

It should help but if it's too close to the drive the airflow might be too restricted for it to help much.
