Firmware Questions

Ok so I traded my wii for a firmware hacked Xbox 360, I have a few questions.

Is there a way to tell what KIND of hacked firmware it is?
Is it possible to remove the firmware and put on the retail firmware easily?
Is it safe to play on live with real copy games?

Oh and this is just a random question but is a 360 overheating a common thing?
I haven't had it to me yet but I'm scared it will, Will it actually make it unplayable? Or will it just crash?
I felt the back of my xbox while playing and it feels pretty hot, I played for around 7 hours yesterday straight with no crashes but yeah, Felt hot.

I just want to know if overheating is as common as I've read or it's just people over exaggerating.

Thanks guys

Does anyone know an easy way of doing so? I don't like having modded systems.

I'd rather not get banned from live or something. Plus I'd rather buy my games and support microsoft.

Anyone know how to go about removing it and putting retail back on?

Can I run a program or update or something?

Oh and is a xbox 360 suppsed to feel pretty warm in the back when just going through menus and browsing/downloading demos and such from live?

I've fell in love with the 360 and I'd hate to have it crap out on me.

And if I can't remove the firmware, If I used LEGIT copies of the games will I be banned from live for just having hacked firmware?

I think the easiest way is just to buy a new DVD drive. Consoleshop.com

no no. You don't need a new drive.

First off...what type of drive do you have?

Samsung, Hitachi, or BenQ?

I'm not sure, Do I hope to open it up to check? I'd rather not.

Is there a way to check it out from ejecting it or something?
