Temperature Problems With Mod

i have modded my 360(2007 version with extra heat sink) i have installed X2 XCM exhaust fans and a single fan to cool the GPU heat sink at the front right hand side of the 360, i want to know if i should cut the plastic away above the single fan so it can draw in air from outside the 360, at the moment it is surrounded by the plastic case of the 360, thus not really drawing air from any where but inside the xbox, any help appreciated cheers

I have a similar set up and used a hole saw for the hole above the heatsink fan. It cools it off alot better. I purchased extra case off ebay to keep the original though.

basiclly i have three XCM fans fitted to my 360 2 exhaust and 1 cooling the heatsink at the front of the xbox, i have read in posts that the optimum temp should be around 40 degrees C but my 360 usaully runs at around 60 degrees C, im wondering if i should cut out the plastic case where the single Fan sits at the front so it draws air in from the outside instead of secondhand air from within the 360 make sense???

Everyones temps a different. The temps also might not be exactly accurate pending on where you put the thermometers.

i did it by the book, so to speak and i have since taken the 360 apart again and re-checked i have everything where it should be, do you think its a good idea to cut away the plastic case on the 360 above the fan so it draws air in from outside??

I have never needed to do that so its really up to you bud. Buy some ram sinks and put them on the ram chips around the gpu heat sink. That will help with the heat as well.
