How hot should it run?

Hi Guys,

I was just wondering what temp a standard 360 with no mods should run at.

I've hooked my XCM temp monitor up today and to my mind It could be running a little warm.

No need for the "Well mine runs at 20 degrees because I have a massive fan taped onto the side" squad, please. I'm just after a totally stock 360 average temp.

Say after 10 mins of uptime, then after 2 hours.

dude i have the same mod 2x exhaust fans and 1x cooler fan above the GPU heatsink at the front of the 360, no other mods apart from crystal clear case, i have been asking the same question and people say different things, i actually looked at the XCM fitting guide and in one of there finish pictures i could see there fans were running at 55 and 56 degrees C so i guess if they have a picture with that tempreture then around that figure must be ok?? mine actually runs at about 58 and 60 degrees C when playing GTA4, i have been contemplating cutting out the case on the single cooler fan and leaving it open so it sucks air in from the exterior of the xbox? what does your temp reading say??

(forgot to add to last post) the 360 seems to run hotter with 10 mins of uptime and cooler after 30 mins or so??

I've only had it monitoring since this morning but so far on the 3 runs I've done it:

After 10 mins I get -

GPU - 49
CPU - 39

After 2 hours:

GPU - 59
CPU - 46

It fluctuates a little but those are the most predominant figures.
Those are running GTA IV and PGR 4.

It just seemed to me like the 57-62 band for the GPU is a bit high, I think perhaps a core cooler could be an interesting experiment, see if they really do reduce the temp.

way to hot guys!! after 10 mins mine is
gpu -32
cpu-30
after 2hours playing gta4
gpu -37
cpu-35

whats happens is when u place the add-on fan inside the xbox where they your suppose to place it all it does is move the hot air inside the xbox so really ur not cooling it down at all
but if u cut a hole like in my picture and place the fan on the outside then you'll get lower temp also it depends if u have the 3rd heatsink or not

also oil ur fans from time to time take out the xcm sticker and get some oil in there at full speed they should be running at about 6000 rpm
