July 2008 New Releases
Here are the titles set for July 2008 releases (these are all US dates). Let me know what you guys are interested in and we'll make new sections for anything we haven't already.

Beijing 2008: The Official Video Game of the Olympic Games - July 8, 2008
Official site. My interest level in the Oympics is pretty much nil... still, some of these types of games in the past have been decent fun I guess.

Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution - July 8, 2008

Should be interesting to see you this pc staple handles the jump to consoles. Gamespy gave it a pretty good review. Said the AI was crazy... We'll see.


Golf: Tee It Up - July 9, 2008
This is an XBox Live Arcade title from Activision. Might not be too bad. They say they will be adding downloadable courses etc in the future, so that's cool. Read about it on XBox.com's site.

Schizoid - July 9, 2008
Another puzzle/action type thing for the XBox Live Arcade. Details.

NCAA Football 09 - July 15, 2008
EA does make me mad, but I always buy their football games anyway. NCAA 09 is due soon and then we can begin the great NCAA debate of 09 - specifically whether or not we've just dropped $60 on another roster update. Oh, look, they have 'mascot play'. Sigh.

So you make a movie. What do you do next? Well, you make a horrible game for it of course. No way this doesn't suck.


Soulcalibur IV - July 29, 2008
No, I'm not buying a PS3 just because they made Darth Vader the exclusive character for that console. I'm not gonna do it. I'm just not.
Here's their crazy super flash site that gives my browser fits if you wanna look at it.

They don't talk about the console specific characters much there... but the 360 is just getting Yoda. Not that there's anything wrong with Yoda. It's just... ah, nevermind.

Spectral Force 3 - July 29, 2008
Turn-based fantasy strategy title. I don't even want to read about it... Oh it takes place in 'Neverland'. Very original. Here's their site. Let me know if I should have to look at it.


Summer Athletics: The Ultimate Challenge - July 29, 2008
The Summer Olympics game that doesn't use the words Beijing, Olympics, or anything else they would have to have licensed. ironically, of the two 'summer games' games, I bet this one is better. Just a hunch.

Double D Dodgeball - July 30, 2008
There hasn't been a good dodgeball game siince Super Dodgeball on the NES (which was completely awesome). Based on the screen shots of this one over at ShackNews, that isn't going to change with this one... I'll hang on to my 800 points on this one.

EA Sports Fantasy Football - July 31, 2008
Import your fantasy team into Madden 09. Sure, why not.

So there's July 2008.

Hmmmm. Nothing spectacular this month then. Might give Soul Calibur IV or Civilization Revolution a rent, but can't see myself buying anything new this month.
