Nope, it is instant. And, if you buy a Gold membership you have three choices. Monthly (I think it's 7.99 for the one month), 3 Month intervals (I think $20 something for those 3 months), and Yearly ($50 for the year). Once you make your choice, you just choose which credit/debit card you want to charge, and your done. No codes to register or stuff to fiddle with. They made it really easy this time around to purchase both points and memberships which is cool as hell. Hope this helps.

Looks like I will be throwing out some $$$$ for the Xbox Gold. They should haved not even included the Silver with the 360, and just given us a discount on the Gold. Well atleast I can set up my GamerTag...

so i can walk into a game shop and purhase a 12month thing without using a credit card and play xbox live with just the ethernet cable that came with the premium.
to i plug the cable straight to the adsl modem or to the pc  |
