My NAT was open for ages and then a few days ago halo told me that it was closed and i couldnt find any matches etc, so to open my NAT I had to manually reset my router online which took a while cause the loading bar was taking ages, but that did it and it opened my NAT. btw my router is a BT homehub.

Yes when you do this you are opening all the ports on your Xbox, which is insecure, but show me someone that has hacked into an xbox 360?

Where exactly do I type the 360's IP adress, because I got to boxes on mine: Source IP and Destination.
I assume I do it in Srouce IP, but after I type in the IP adress, it has another box next to it saying "to", I don't know what the hell that is...
BTW: this also works for ICS, right?

Worth it?
Is it really worth it or should I just buy another modem. When this post was started there really wasn't any hacking going on with 360's but in the past year I've had friends lose their gamertags to hackers and have to make new ones. Does opening my nat settings this way make me vulnerable in any way to people that hack gamertags? The only problem I have right now is not being able to connect to certain people's partys/games. Should I just get a new router?

I don't think getting a new router is going to help any. If you are using a router, you will always have to deal with NAT...

I've had other routers though and have not had this problem. It's only with the d-link router that I currently have that's giving me problems.

Try looking at the bottom of your router to see it's ip, or try 192.168.0.1

I can not get my xbox connected using manual IP. My nat is moderate if i use auto.
I have a Dlink DIR-615 router
I have tried port forwarding but it does not even connect to the network. I have assigned the xbox 192.168.0.199, Then set the port forwarding to that and nothing.
If i use auto ip it assigned the xbox 192.168.15.5 ( which is a wierd IP) and when i add that to the port forwarding field it say out of routers range.
Any suggestions?
