Ip Adress Failed..?
Ok, Basicalyy i have a direct connection, ethernet cables connected.. Ok so when i try to connect to Live, the ip adress is unexcepted.. Any help?

I had a similar problem using DSL and it involved the PPPOE settings.
If you are using DSL, I can't recall the exact procedure, but it may steer you in the right direction.

you might want to reset your router...if you are using one.
if you dont know how to reset the router, if you look on the back of the router, you should see a "pen" hole. unplug the router, stick a pencil, pen, or anything small enough in the hole WHILE plugging the router back up.

Ive tried reseting the router... still dosent work....we have at&t 2 wire router.. if that helps any..

I have this problem as well the IP adress keeps failing and even when I do it manually it still fails.

If you go to the System blade on your 360, there is a network tab. Make sure it is set to automatic.

I have this same issue.. I can get the XBOX to read 'Wired', then the IP, if manually input will accept, but then it goes to DNC and fails. I've tried so many times I quit trying.
I tried automatic on everything, but no luck.
AT&T DSL modem
direct connection with the XBOX 360

Check with your ISP. I had an ISP once that you had to call everytime you hooked up something new to the internet. They wanted the MAC address and a few other things and then they would allow it to connect to the internet. Hope this helps...

it seems to me i am the only one who hasnt had probs with my 360 hmm not to sure what to do either i hope this dont happen to me touch wood
