Ip Address failed
Hi,
I looked allot and i dint see any one with the similar problems that i have.
I have modem/router device with 4 ethernet ports on it.
I dont have nothing connected to this ports apart from Xbox 360.
As all my computers are connected wireless to the modem/router.
I did the turn of and on trick, and some how i get a really funny IP on xbox.
So wen i run a test IP fails all the time.
Hope some one can help.
Thanks

Is this router hooked up to your modem? Also, I believe the router you use for your 360 MUST be hooked up to a computer to grab an IP. For example:
I run on a D-Link Wireless router with the microsoft wireless adaptor. The router is hooked up to my modem, which is hooked up to me computer. Thus I get an IP.
See what I mean?

Ok,
I use a modem/router....this means all in one device.
I donīt have 2 separate devices.
So i dont think i need to connect to a computer to get an IP.
As i know... this kind of devices assigns IP auto, but i am not sure.
Thanks

Hi,
I port forward a manual IP that i assign to xbox and feel in all the details.
But some how i cant pass IP problem.
From your site this is what i have
* You have put in a manual ip address that is not part of the routers network (I Did that)
* You have not put your ip address settings on "Auto" (If you mean on xbox no... I manually set an IP)
* You have entered your username/password info into the PPPoE in your XBox Dashboard, you do not need to do this. (I did not do this)
* DHCP is turned off on the router (I am nearly %100 is not turn off)
Thanks
Bruguju

I made it happen,
Everything was in order.
I punch all the numbers right but some how it was not working.
Until some one told me to change the ethernet cable from port 1 to port 4 on my modem.
And it was as if magic.
I dint even need to restart or nothing.
Thanks for all the feedback guys.
Best
