Same exact thing is happening to me!!! Im about to switch to damn playstation 3. Going to go try to exchange my adapter for another one and hopefully that one will work!!!!!!

If in settings the wireless is faded out and red light on adapter, then its the adapter which is faulty, i had the same problem until i got refunded a new one, and that worked..

Also some people on here might say its the console, im not sure about that - might be something to look into??

Ok then. Riddle me this. I took my 360 to a friends house, with a working wireless. Plugged my adapter into his box, didn't work. Plugged his adapter into my box, worked. Swapped out the adapter. Didn't work at my house.

I am going nuts and tech support does nothing to help.
Really. Nothing.

To everyone else, the issue is inside the Xbox360 itself. It does not recognize the WIRELESS ADAPTER... The adapter is FINE, so quit screwing around with your goddamn router, adapter returns and positioning of your xbox. Just like the ring of red lights, you're gonna have to send your console in for a pap smear. There is no other option here for wireless.
