If you don't have the ICS option your ethernet card may be disabled or the drivers are not working properly

OMG! I've been trying for ages to do the same thing, connect 360 via my PC which runs off a wireless card!
So glad I stumbled upon this post otherwise I would have never of imagined bridging the connections .

Do I need a computer near the console? I intend to have my 360 in my living room, but my computer is in my room...
I do have a spare computer that no one is using (almost stock from 2000, only update since is WinXP) that I can hook up out there, but because of how old it is, will it have an effect on my online play?
sorry for noob question =P I wanna make sure I will be able to play online before I spend the money...

well u got to tell us first what router do u have... is it wireless or not.. how many ethernet plugs does it have..
I prefer connecting it through wire though.. cause it will cut you a 90$ out of the budget..
But if u wanna spend some extra cash you can get the wirless adapter for the 360 and use ur wireless router and they will automaticly synchronize..
Simple.. if u got more questions feel free to ask

I have a linksys WRT54G wireless router, which is upstairs... it's got 4 slots on the back for wired connexions
The thing is, in how-to's at the beginning of this thread, it shows a computer in the pix...

1. Can I connect my XBox to a wirless notebook, which is connected to a wireless network?
Yes you can. However, there are a couple of things to note:
You must connect the Xbox to the laptop via a crossover ethernet cable, not a patch cable
You must have successfully connected your laptop to the wireless network in order for this setup to work. Please consult the manufacturer's documentation to setup the network successfully
You must enable Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) on your laptop
is the crossover ethernet cable inclueded with the xbox? Sorry I am not very computer litterit so it may take this old man awhile. lol
