The guide was excellent and I couldn't have done a better one myself, I was merely trying to prevent novices/beginners going to shops and purchasing the wrong gear.
That would confuse them too!

It's very good that you did post up the correct information, too. As you said, it wouldn't be right for somebody to go out and buy the wrong type of cord.
As everybody else has said, this is a very great guide, for beginners especially. Did you get this guide from somewhere else, or did you make it all on your own? If you did the second one, I have to say that I am really impressed.

i have a feeling you used the ole' ctrl-c to ctrl-v technique. If that is all your work then i congratulate you for that time put in it... i know i wouldnt put that time into it. Luckily when i was first hooking up to live and i started messing around with routers and what not, i got lucky and figured all that crap out by myself... dont ask me how either.

Hey, just a couple quick questions.
I'm not that tech savvy, so please bear with me. I live in a college dormitory, and I've never had high speed internet at home, so I don't know much about it. If I want to connect Xbox Live on my school's network, will I need a cable modem, or will it work if I just plug it in through the network hub? I suppose I could go down to my school's IT office and ask them, but I thought I would check here first. Thanks a bunch.

That was happening to me too. What hapened was I moved in to my new little apartment and when I first hooked it up, just like I had it upstairs. Cable Modem, Linksys Router, 360 hardwaired to router. Well, the first day I reconnected everything, it was perfectly fine. I go to launch it the next day and bam... MTU problems everywhere. I tried like 6 million times. I finally gave up, let the thing chill out... then the next day. BAM, working perfectly fine again. Haven't had a problem since. So, may I ask sir gUnit. Was it EVER working, then you developed the problem? Or is this your first time connecting it and having the problem.
