Annoying Virgin Media

Ok so I've posted on here a while ago about my connection to XBL dropping every now and then and after much arguing and testing of modems, Routers and Xbox, Virgin FINALLY tell me that it's a known issue in my area that the so called "superfast fibre optic broadband" that they convinced me to upgrade to 10meg for using XBL drops randomly and has been doing so for the last month. Engineers are aware of the issue and are working to resolve it as a mattter of urgency.... yeah right... it will only be urgent when people in my are refuse to continue paying for a crap service....

I've never had a problem with virgin media, the customer service is excellent always get guaranteed speeds and never lost connection, ever.

I think you just live in a crappy area

funnily enough i have the same problem im on 20meg with virgin had 10 before and it kept dropping then and now its even worse so the feeling is mutual

nope im in staffordshire. from what i can gather they really couldnt care any less. weve been talkin to them about or net dropping for months and they fed us almost the same crap they fed you. and just so you know in case you arnt aware you never get the full meg amount you pay for ever! because they have some kinda sneaky ploy in the small print. gawd knows why im still with them but anythin is better then 2mg lol and bt are crap lol

I chose them as it's fiber optic and I don't have to give a rats ass about how far I am from the exchange. I actually get pretty close to my 10MB speed - I get about 8 as that's all the exchange can handle at the moment, and I guess it makes a difference as to what time I'm online (3am is the best time lol). I would never have ADSL boradband, because of the above mentioned lack of fiberoptics.

Incidentally I work in telecoms myself so they can't fob me off with crap excuses lol

flippin eck id hate to be the person that trys fillin your ear with crap the stuff they have told me before ... its so laughable you just cant help but feel sorry for the person on the phone. They must have ear ache from the amount of people that chuck it back at them at 150 DB lol Well like you say fibre optic is defintely the way forward just a shame it cant be concidered as reliable! And the charge they want per year thats apparently soon to commence to 'make the fibre optic way forward' happen ... well thats just another ploy to get some more dosh from us i dont believe for a sec that nothin will be as good as they say it will ... it never is! lol and when it is ... well its too good to be true! lol Even their TV is crap lol

good on virgin media *claps* GREAT SERVICE!

lol I actually find that their TV and phone is ok, it's just the broadband that I have issues with - especially since every time I talk to the m I have to go through their "turn your modem off then on agaion" crap... I DID THAT ALREADY!!!!

ahahahaha!!! We gave up on their TV went with SKY but the crap they filled me with when they were tryin to trouble shoot my gawd was like talkin to a brick wall! They said the box doesnt have a booster signal you gotta go buy all the bits for it LOL told em to stuff it and when i asked the SKY engineer on the day of fitting about boosters etc because our digi box had more signal then the vision box he just laughed his ass off!! And the nets the same... We have 20MG and on a good day we'd be lucky to get 8 yet if we had 10 we'd be lucky to get 4 ... :/ cant work that out

Too many people with clipboards and big ideas that are urm ... not so big lol and urm kinda quite lousey
