I have a little more information to add.
I purchased an XBOX 360 Elite from Circuit City (web site) on 12/01/07.
The package shipped from the Irving Texas warehouse.
The label on the box listed Team: TMEM. There was no lot number listed on the label. This box was the 'new' box with Forza and Ultimate Alliance bundled.
When I peeled this label from the box, I found a second label with the following info:
TEAM: CSON
LOT NO: 0742
WO: B4J553373L2
Power Supply 203W
I opened the box, and inspected the console and power supply. The power supply was 175W. The mother board on teh console has the new heat sink with 2 inductors. The MFR Date = 2007 - 10 - 25.
It may say 203W possibly so they can use either parts in the box.
Although it is good to be accurate, it doesn't hurt to indicate that a system requires a few more watts than it actually does. Hypothetically, if the product pulls more power than it should, and there is an electrical problem or fire, the manufacturer could be in a bad situation.
The label on the outside of the box (for all to see) does not mention a power supply wattage (See Pic # 1). When I carefully removed the top label from the box, the label below lists the power supply at 203W (See Pic # 2). Microsoft probably did not expect anyone to remove the top label from the box.
The 'actual' power supply in the box reads 175W (See Pic # 3). This power supply also has the 'all plastic' plug that inserts into the console.
