    slow internet browsing

an odd problem which started yesterday, i reset my PC after installing a game from a disc. the boot up screen wouldnt show so i had to turn the PC off at the mains. I restarted the pc again and it worked as normal, accept when i tried using the internet i got an error, somthing like "process was interupted while attempting to contact server" cant remmember exactly. I reset my PC again and the internet started working again, accept that general web browsing was very slow. Everything else is at normal speed (Xbox Live, http downloading, ect) its just web browsing thats effected. any idea on what the problem is?

I'm fairly new to the technical side of web tech but isn't 'http downloading' and 'browsing' more or less the same thing?

Also: when in doubt, turn it off and on again (routers, modem).

Are you using Firefox? If so, try out some of these tips. My computer only has 256 MB of RAM, so it really helped speed things up for me.

And if you're not using firefox, then download it RIGHT NOW and use these tips
