1 TB HD rumors

The rumor is out there and every where. Several publications, analysts and forum users claim Microsoft plans to release a 1 terabyte (1,000 GB) hard disk drive for the Xbox 360. The reason? The new Games on Demand service, which will offer both Xbox Originals and classic Xbox 360 titles as digital downloads. Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter is one the analysts who think Microsoft needs such big hard drive on the Xbox 360 so the Games on Demand service is not held back by current storage options.

"I don't see the timing between new release and digital download being a function of anything other than hard drive sizes," offered Pachter, speaking exclusively to GamesIndustry.biz. "I think as soon as we have large hard drives - think the rumoured Project Natal 'new' Xbox 360 with a terabyte of storage in 2010 - we'll have day-and-date downloads."

considering that a lot of games are coming out to be able to download i guess some people will need it. but considering MS prices its probably going to be RIDICULOUS expensive

lol, If you can show me a 2.5" SATA HDD at 1Tb capacity, or any road maps for it from any HDD manufacturer, I'd love to see it.

yah i dont know how there going to pull of the size deal unless u have this extra big box that connects to the xbox LOL. so know u have 2 bulky boxes

but if u look at the prices 120GB = $150 so therefore 1024GB = $1279 lol so whos going to even pay for it lol

Plus, why jump from 120 GB to 1TB? I'd think they'd make a more gradual approch, plus as mentionned above...a 1 TB 2.5 SATA HDD, just ain't gonna happen.

You obviously don't know what you are talking about. Most 1 TB drives are actually 2 big (3.5 inch) 500GB drives.

So a single, small (2.5 inch) 1 TB drive, to be released soon is simply impossible. The technology for it is simply non existent, as we speak.
